"Sampaguita" is the entry of award-winning director Francis Xavier Pasion to the 6th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival.

This film chronicles the journey of the sampaguita flower from the time the buds are plucked in the province to the time they are sold in the city. The story is told by the children who are involved in the different stages of the journey.

Helmed by Francis Xavier Pasion, the director-writer of the film “Jay” which won the Best Film, Best Editing and Best Actor Award (for Baron Geisler) in Cinemalaya 2008. Pasion’s “Jay” also won numerous awards abroad.
