Velvet, the country's premium general entertainment channel for women, finally brings to Philippine shores this July the legal-drama TV series that captured the hearts of superwomen around the globe—The Good Wife.

With its highly-engaging and controversial plot, The Good Wife has reached expansive global success as it recently ranked no.1 in its timeslot not only in the US but also in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Spain and outperforms its timeslot average in Denmark and UK.

Topbilled by Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards winner Julianna Margulies, The Good Wife is an American legal drama that premiered on CBS on September 2009 and has renewed for a second season January this year.

The Good Wife focuses on Margulies as Alicia Florrick, the wife of a disgraced state attorney Peter Florrick (Chris Noth) who rebuilds her reputation after her husband has been jailed following a very public sex and corruption scandal. Having spent so many years as “the good wife”, Alicia finds herself returning to work as a junior litigator at a prestigious law firm trying to juggle both home and professional life with the ongoing scandal surrounding her husband.
