Velvet Shakes Up Primetime Entertainment with ‘Three Rivers’

A different kind of medical drama is just what the doctor ordered. Scrub into the fast-paced complex lives of transplant surgeons, organ donors and recipients in 'Three Rivers', premiering on Aug. 16, Thursday at 10pm on Velvet.

Every second counts in the high stakes organ transplant world. And at Pittsburgh’s Three Rivers Regional Medical Center, the pre-eminent transplant facility in the country, a team of dedicated, headstrong doctors not only deals with the toughest cases in the nation. More than stitching up a few post-op wounds, they also need to mend broken lives and heal emotional scars along the way.

Heading the elite team of transplant doctors is Dr. Andy Yablonski (Alex O’Loughlin), a highly-skilled and a workaholic surgeon popular among patients and colleagues because of his good-natured personality and sarcastic wit. Joining Dr. Yablonski’s life-saving exploits are Dr. Miranda Foster (Katherine Moennig), a doctor with a fiery temper and rebellious streak who works hard to live up to her father’s excellent surgical reputation; Ryan Abbott (Christopher Hanke), a naive young coordinator struggling to learn the ropes of his new job; Dr. David Lee (Daniel Henney), a womanizing surgical resident who’s broken as many hearts as he’s replaced; Dr. Sophia Jordon (Alfre Woodard), the no-nonsense head of surgery; and Pam Acosta (Justina Machado), Andy’s operating assistant and best friend.

This high-stakes arena takes more than just skill and a sharp scalpel. In Three Rivers, split-second decisions change the course of lives.

Catch the premiere of “Three Rivers” on August 19, Thursday at 10pm on Velvet (SkyCable Channel 53). Velvet, the country’s premium general entertainment channel, is now available on SkyCable Platinum, SkyCable Gold, SkyCable Silver and other quality cable operators nationwide.
