GMA Network Launches 2010 Christmas Station ID: ‘Isang Pagkilala sa Puso ng Pilipino Ngayong Pasko’
Instead of the usual music video typical to a station ID, GMA presents three sketches that recognize the heart of the Filipino through a series of true-to-life inspiring stories.
Titled “Isang Pagkilala sa Puso ng Pilipino Ngayong Pasko,” the stories tell the real-life tales of Filipinos who, by sharing what they can, have made a difference in the lives of many.
Starring in the vignettes are three of GMA’s biggest and most renowned Kapuso stars: Dingdong Dantes, Marian Rivera and Richard Gutierrez
Dingdong Dantes plays the role of Jose, a modern day Christmas angel. Jose spends Christmas Eve going to different hospitals in Metro Manila, paying the bills of indigent patients unable to afford treatment. When the surprised families of these patients ask to thank him, they are told that Jose has already left.

Marian Rivera portrays the role of Mila, a woman who literally opens her home to the less fortunate. Mila welcomes the Season of Advent by selling Christmas decors in her garage. She uses the money she earns to prepare food and feed more than 200 families on New Year’s Eve.
Richard guttierez, on the other hand, plays the role of Ed, a US immigrant based in Las Vegas, Nevada, whose heart remains very Filipino. With his wife, he personally packs balikbayan boxes with toys and school supplies and ships these at Christmas time to children in different provinces.
Director Paul Ticzon explains the characters in the Christmas campaign are real-life Santas. “These are people who go out of their way to create a meaningful Christmas for others. Their stories will hit you in the heart,” he said.
Shot in high-definition (HD) digital video technology, these plugs will air from time to time on GMA-7 and are also slated to be seen in SM Cinemas.

GMA Network profit up 6% to P2.3B in Q3
Broadcast giant GMA Network Inc. ended the first nine months with a net profit of P2.272 billion, up by six percent from last year.
Consolidated revenues stood at P10.876 billion, eight percent higher than the P10.025 billion grossed during the same period in 2009 backed by the accumulation of airtime revenues from media platforms and subscription revenues from international operations, which overtook last year’s performance.
Parent company Channel 7 posted a seven percent increase in revenues to P9.262 billion; Q Channel 11 registered a 10 percent improvement to P346 million; international revenues climbed 10 percent to P700 million; while Radio’s revenues soared 73 percent to P443 million.
Total assets grew by five percent to P13.750 billion; while total liabilities dropped by three percent to P2.786 billion. The company remains debt-free.

ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp.’s third-quarter net profit declined by eight percent to P178.9 million from P194.5 million a year before, the company said.
ABS-CBN said that despite its lower earnings in the third quarter, its net profit for the first nine months of the year had grown by 70 percent to P694 million from P409 million a year before, reflecting the continuing improvement in its core business.
The company’s third-quarter revenue fell to P4.5 billion from P4.92 billion because it earned less from selling air time, services, licenses and goods.
Its third-quarter earnings per share declined to P0.229 from P0.254.
For the first nine months, gross revenue inched up by 2 percent to P12.94 billion from P12.74 million.
Earnings per share for the first nine months rose to P0.890 from P0.524.

gusto ko itong station id ng gma7.simple pero napakaganda ang mensaheng nais ipahiwatig sa mga manonood.kya nga ang christmas station id ng gma7 ang nanalo sa catholic mass media kasi simple ang pagkakagawa pero napakaganda ang mensaheng nais ibahagi sa mga manonood.congrats gma.

GMA has once again shy away from using a grandeur presentation of using their stars just to relay the true meaning/essence of Christmas to its viewers.
I like GMA’s Christmas ID this 2010 coz, it gives back honors to Pinoys who unselfishly extends their hearts to fellow Filipinos – in any means they can. Sila ang mga kababayang walang sawang tumutulong sa mga kapus nating kababayan.
Ikaw, na nagbabasa ng comment ko at isang detractor ng GMA christmas I.D kada taon – may natulungan ka na bang kababayan natin?
I agree na dapat di na isiwalat ang magandang ginawa sa kapwa…kaya nga ung isang kwento ng Pinoy sa plug ay di ipinakita ang mukha…pero atleast nalaman naman natin na hanggat may maitutulong ka sa kapwa mo…gawin mo na taos sa puso at walang pag-aalinlangan.

The company on Thursday announced that profit dropped to P583M in july to September of 2010 from P788M in the same quarter last year.
Gross revenue slipped by 10% to P3.3B as a result of 12% decline in air time revenue, which made the bulk of the total. “To be perfectly honest, the third quarter was a disappointment but not a very big one,” GMA chair and CEO Felipe Gozon said in a briefing. Gozon explained the company also had to raise its ad rates earlier in the year, which scared some big advertisers away temporarily. GMA’s station ID is banking on a simple appeal to sympathy & emotional lability to catch the attention of the viewers and that in itself is a very cheap strategy. hindi basta-basta nadadaan sa simpleng paawa-awa at emosyonal ekek ang mga manunuod. WHAT WE NEED IS PURE SINCERITY AND ABS-CBN KNOWS HOW TO TICKLE OUR SENSITIVITY & TOUCH OUR HEARTS WITHOUT MUCH ICING ON THE CAKE.

no need to plug this kind of service..help unconditionally. di na kailngan pa always on the spot ang mga tulong na ginagawa. Ang GMA nataranta sa paglabas ng station ID nila kasi ng announce na ang ABS before na meron na sila. Kaya inunahan na ng GMA ang airing para sabihing original sila..poor GMA, di kailangan un…wat matters and count much is QUALITY.
