‘My Amnesia Girl’ Hits P144.8M in 5 Weeks
For the opening weekend of December 22 to 26 (pre-MMFF), Tron Legacy was the no. 1 movie in Philippine box office with a modest gross of P17.15 million followed by The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader with P7.67 million gross.
The Toni Gonzaga-John Lloyd Cruz starrer managed to haul an additional P4.49 million during its fifth and last week of screening just before the MMFF movies commenced on Christmas day. It was good for 3rd place.

you are all entitled to your opinion, of course. but the fact still remains: the plot may have had some revisions but ideas and the concept of the film were still taken from 50 First dates. bottom line is it’s still plagiarism. this style of copying is not only isolated to this particular movie. there are several KNOCK OFFs from other films and tv series such as Twilight, The Jungle Book, Rubi, Ugly Betty, Mrs. Doubtfire, and Overboard (think Sharon Cuneta and Rudy Fernandez movie). lately, the lack of creativity and originality has plagued the Filipino film and tv industry. what’s sad is that moviegoers like many of you are so used to substandard films that you have been desensitized. #68, if the point i’m trying to make eludes you, then try growing a brain. i HAVE seen both movies so there’s no further research required, moron. #69, you’re going to lord one word over me? you can’t even compose a sentence correctly, idiot.

And we all know that amnesia is already being abused by our local teleseryes. it’s very common. but what I love about 50 1st dates and My Amnesia Girl is how they put the twist to the overused amnesia scheme.
