Gus Abelgas Pushes for Protection for Journalists in ‘Krusada’

Journalists are usually the public’s source of police and crime stories. But recent events show that reporters and broadcasters also now become part of the headlines as the actual victims of repression and violence.

There’s the Maguindanao Massacre in November 2009, where 34 members of the press were killed, and the ambush on hard-hitting radio broadcaster and environmentalist Dr. Gerry Ortega last January 2011.

It is the crusade of “Scene of the Crime Operatives” (SOCO) anchor Gus Abelgas to push for a law that ensures the safety and protection of journalists when it comes to their work.

This Thursday (March 3) on “Krusada,” Gus will investigate if it’s truly becoming more dangerous to become a journalist these days. Is it really difficult to find solutions to bring justice to the victims and end media killings?

In his report, find out if the Philippines is really the “most murderous country for journalists” like New York’s Committee to Protect Journalists have claimed.

Listen, take part, and be one in the crusade to protect journalists who deliver the truth to the masses on “Krusada,” after “Bandila” on ABS-CBN. Because it takes more than words to make a stand.

  3. alex g: How would you equate a Less Ads, Zero Awards, Flop Movies & Poor Artists' Endorsements, from a high ratings (kono!?) claimed by gozon? // March 2, 2011 at 6:39 pm //

// March 2, 2011 at 6:39 pm //

  5. alex g: Did you know that gma7 was always the first channel that SIGNS-OFF the tv? No Ads, Just Commercial Pluggings. // March 2, 2011 at 6:38 pm //

// March 2, 2011 at 6:38 pm //

// March 2, 2011 at 6:38 pm //

  8. alex g: Walang kinikilingan, walang pinoproteksyonan, walang kasinungalingan, serbisyong totoo lang, walang bahid pulitika, PERO NASUSUHULAN NG PERA PARA GUMAWA NG COMMERCIALS (how stupid). // March 2, 2011 at 6:38 pm //

(as compared to BULONG with 64.28M). May "Divine Intervention" pa raw, sabi ni mother lily (how stupid). // March 2, 2011 at 6:37 pm //

“Napakahirap na ng buhay ngayon, kaya for a movie to make over P135 million in 3 days is a miracle. Divine intervention ito”.

    -lily monteverde (baliw).
