Easter Message of P-Noy: ‘PHL to Rise from Darkness’

April 24, 2011 by · 13 Comments

President Noynoy Aquino delivered his Easter message to the Filipino people via a YouTube video from the government website http://rtvm.gov.ph.

The president is filled with optimism that the country will rise from darkness as Easter symbolizes hope. He pointed out that Filipinos will rise from “calvary”, a metaphor he used for “corruption in government” as the country’s no. 1 problem.

“I am one with the Filipino nation in celebrating the Lord’s resurrection from the dead as He saved mankind from sins,” P-Noy said in his Easter message.

“No matter how dark the episode we had been through, the advancement of honest and good governance, along with strong faith and cooperation, would be our foundation to overcome the Calvary that we have to deal with as we came in (government),”

“Each and everyone of us can contribute to the end of corruption to lift our people from poverty and difficulties. It is only through this that the people would feel the real light of change,” he added.

Aquino wished all Filipinos a peaceful and blessed celebration of Easter.
