Lady Gaga – ‘Judas’ Music Video Released
For the second time around, Lady Gaga added some religious elements on her new video specially that her new song is titled “Judas.”
The concept of the music video shows Lady Gaga playing the role of “Mary Magdalene” while actor Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead) portraying the role of “Judas”, which was conceptualized and directed by the pop star herself along with Laurieann Gibson.
Lady Gaga made it clear that her new music video is not a religious statement of some sort.
“I don’t view the video as a religious statement. I view it as social statement. I view it as a cultural statement. It’s a metaphor,” the singer/songwriter told E! Online on Wednesday.
“Judas” is included in Lady Gaga‘s forthcoming album “Born this Way” which is scheduled to hit stores on May 23, 2011.

Kaya “Jesus is my virtue, but Judas is the demon i cling to” Bobo ang wala. Tsaka hindi offensive ang video. Kaya si Lady gaga yung namatay sa huli kasi sa mga bumabatikos.

#12, dont preach when you dont know the lyrics. With the video, nothing is wrong with it. I agree. But with the lyrics, it’s all wrong.. It’s just dumb stupid. First off, it wasnt Judas who betrayed 3 times. It was Peter. Secondly, how do you understand this line/ “Jesus is my virtue but Judas is the demon I cling to”. This is just insane. This is just so wrong. I am not coming clean… but this is just pure an anti-Christ song.
If you have real artistic presence and you have ability, why do you have to be edgy with my religion to make some type of cultural statement. Time out, enough is enough. Do your little number and leave us alone!!!
With the comments posted above, I could say that some Filipinos are stupid when it comes to art and religion.
I am a Filipino myself and a Christian as well. I see this video as a video about forgiveness since most of the time in the music video, Gaga clings to Jesus. And the message of the song is falling in love with the wrong guy [and in that case, it’s Judas]. And isn’t it clear that in the bath tub scene, Gaga cleans Jesus [not Judas] feet, which symbolizes her humility towards Jesus. It’s what you call METAPHOR. So for those who don’t know what it is, go back to your English subject teachers!
There is nothing offensive in the video, even if you look at it literally. If you find this offensive, then you’ve just misunderstood the song.
Lyrically and musically, this is as meaningful as Bad Romance. Probably one of the most critical song out of her new album.
