Lauren Alaina starts her bid for the title by reprising her favorite performance “Flat on the Floor.” Her next song, “Maybe it was in Memphis” was chosen by Carrie Underwood for her.

In another first, the three judges did not air their comments in either of the performances I’ve mentioned.
