‘The Hangover Part II’ Beats ‘Kung Fu Panda’ at the US Box-Office

An entire wolfpack beat the cuddly panda at the US box-office.

The R-rated comedy “The Hangover Part II” bested the GP-rated “Kung Fu Panda 2” at the US box-office according to weekend estimates by Box-office Mojo this weekend of May 27-29, 2011.

The Warner Bros Pictures sequel to the breakout 2009 hit about men behaving badly, also set a record opening of $86.4 million for an R-rated movie.

“Kung Fu Panda,” featuring the voices of Jack Black and Angelina Jolie debuted in second place with $48 million.

Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” on the other hand, settled for 3rd place in its second week, and took its worldwide box office total to $623.7 million so far.
