Rebecca Black Removes Her ‘Friday’ Music Video from YouTube

"Fun Fun Fun Fun Fun" no more! Happy now?

Rebecca Black herself has requested YouTube to take down the viral video that made her infamous. If you will access the “Friday” music video that has generated a whopping 167 million hits, this is what you will get:

Apparently, the music video had been put up as a YouTube rental earlier in the week for $2.99 by the ARK Music Factory, the LA firm that produced the video and song.

Black mentioned about her video’s status as a rental on her Twitter account saying, “Thanks for all the messages regarding the $2.99 fee added to Friday video, I have NOTHING to do with this!!”

In a statement released by YouTube on Technology site TechCrunch, the company said:

“YouTube takes copyright infringement very seriously. When we receive a complaint alleging that a video infringes another person or company’s copyrights, we remove that video. Users who believe that a video was removed in error can appeal the copyright takedown.”
