Boardwalk Celebrates 20th Anniversary with a ‘One Big Show’

Boardwalk held a fashion show at the Araneta Coliseum Saturday night, June 18, in celebration of the direct-selling company's 20th year anniversary.

Starmometer graced the star-studded event where Boardwalk introduced their roster of celebrity endorsers together with 100 runway professionals who participated in The Boardwalk 100 Models Search.

The celebration is dubbed “One Big Show,” and true enough, Boardwalk has delivered one of the biggest fashion shows to be held this year. The event was filled with impressive production numbers to the delight of thousands of of Boardwalk members, invited guests and members of the press.

Opening the event was Boardwalk’s Business Ambassador Kris Aquino. It was hosted by Kristine Caballero, Patrick Moore and Borgy Manotoc. Featured celebrities who added the star factor in the fashion show are Boardwalk endorsers Jean Garcia, Ryan Agoncillo, Cherry Pie Picache, Rich Asuncion, Bangs Garcia, Jake Cuenca, Derek Ramsay, Coco Martin and Julia Montes.

Billy Crawford, Rachelle Ann Go, Nikki Gil and Matteo Guidicelli treated the audience with their special dance and song performances.

On the other hand, celebrities like Guji Lorenzana, David Chua, Victor Aliwalas, Justine Gabionza, Rich Herrera and Rich Hardin joined Boardwalk’s 100 models who walked the ramp.

There was also a special segment featuring top beauty queens, models and actresses from the 70s, 80s and 90s all wearing plus-sized designs like Cherry Pie Picache (award-winning actress), Desiree Verdadero (3rd Runner-up Miss Universe 1984), Azenith Briones (Mutya ng Pilipinas Miss Photogenic 1975 who later became an actress), Alma Concepcion (Bb. Pilipinas International 1994), Joyce Ann Burton (Miss Young Philippines 1981, Bb. Pilipinas Universe 1985), Lyka Ugarte (1st Runner-Up Mutya ng Pilipinas 1983, and winner of “The Most Beautiful Girl in the Philippines” 1983), Gem Padilla (Bb. Pilipinas Universe 1990), Patty Betita (Bb. Pilipinas International 1991), Lou Bunyi (Elite: Look of the Year winner in 1989), Deborah Sun (star of the original Temptation Island), Ping Federis (former top fashion model), and Isabelle Roces (top fashion model and now RPN NewsCap anchor). They all proved that fashion is ageless when you’re wearing the right clothes.

One of the event’s highlights is the Burlesque-themed underwear fashion show featuring sexy models and dancers clad in intimate undergarments.

Boardwalk’s One Big Show is set to air on ABS-CBN’s Sunday’s Best this July.
