PAGASA Weather Update: Tropical Depression ‘Falcon’ to Bring Rainy Weekend

As tropical depression “Egay” is leaving the country, a possible new tropical depression to be named “Falcon” is about to make its presence felt later this week.

According to the latest weather update by the Philippine, Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), a new low pressure area (LPA) near the Samar area may enter the Philippine area of responsibility on Tuesday, June 21, 2011.

Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Undersecretary Graciano Yumul said that if the the new LPA becomes a tropical depression, it will be called “Falcon”.

Expected to be stronger than tropical depression “Egay,” the Low Pressure Area is already strengthening the southwest monsoon over Luzon and across the South Philippines that’s why the weather forecast is rainy for the whole week.
