27th PMPC Star Awards for Movies – 2011 Winners Revealed

The 2010 MMFF movie "Ang Tanging Ina Mo, Last Na 'To" (mainstream) and the 2010 Cinemalaya entry "Sigwa" (indie) are the big winners at the 2011 Star Awards for Movies.

The 27th edition of the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Awards for Movies was held Tuesday night, June 21, at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila, Pasay City.

Unlike the Urian and other movie award-giving bodies, there are separate categories for mainstream and indie films in the Star Awards for Movies.

Here are the winners in the 27th PMPC Star Awards for Movies held Tuesday night, June 21, 2011, at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila.

Movie Supporting Actor of the Year:
Tirso Cruz III (Sigwa)

Movie Child Performer of the Year:
Timothy Chan (Here Comes The Bride) – tied with –

New Movie Actress of the Year:
