Javier Colon Wins ‘The Voice’

Javier Colon was named the first ever winner of hit new reality competition "The Voice."

Javier Colon was mentored by Maroon 5‘s Adam Levine throughout the season. During the finals, he competed against Dia Frampton (mentored by Blake Sheldon), Beverly McClellan (mentored by Christina Aguilera) and Vicci Martinez (mentored by Cee Lo Green).

It was a close race according to host Carson Daly. He revealed that there was just a two percent difference in the voting, and Dia Frampton was the runner-up.

The iTunes sales, however, has a different story. Dia Frampton is currently at no. 1 with her “The Voice” single “Inventing Shadows” (CLICK HERE to watch her performance) while Colon’s “Stitch by Stitch” (CLICK HERE to watch his performance) settled for no. 2 yesterday and went down to no. 3 today.

Frampton is still at no. 1 beating superstars like Lady Gaga, Adele, Lil Wayne, Katy Perry and even one of “The Voice” coaches, Adam Levine.

There are speculations that the endorsement from Justin Bieber made Colon win. But even without the said endorsement, the 24-year-old half-Dominican half-Puerto Rican was clearly the front-runner since day 1.

He is now a Universal Republic artist, since a contract with the label is part of the prize package.
