Japan Quake Update: Magnitude 5.6 Quake Shakes Fukushima

Another earthquake happened in Japan. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a magnitude 5.6 quake shook the Pacific off Honshu, near Fukushima’s plant region.

That is the area of northeast Japan ravaged by a March 11 quake and tsunami that knocked out power at the Fukushima nuclear plant.

The quake which happened around 3:35 a.m. Friday morning caused no immediate damage or casualties and no tsunami warning was issued.

The March 11 quake was magnitude 9.0 whick killed 22,600 people.
