Anime Girl Band ‘K-On’ Hits PHL Television via Animax

After being a huge success in Japan, Animax brings exclusively in the Philippines the cutest and most talented anime girl band - "K-On."

This July 13 (Wednesday) at 7:00pm, follow the story of 5 high school girls Yui (guitar), Ritsu (drums), Mio (bass) Tsumugi (keyboard), and Azusa (guitar) on their comical journey to becoming the hottest musical group to play in their school’s festival.

In the first season, watch out for drummer Ritsu and bassist Mio as they search for more members to join their school’s pop music club to save it from being disbanded. Joining them are their new recruits Tsumugi to play the keyboard, Yui to play the guitars and later on Azusa also to play the guitars.

Second season brings the girls back to their favourite music room to practice and become better as a band. In their third and final year in high school, the girls go on the quest to recruit new members to their club. Fans can look forward to catching the bonus OVA episode right after the end of the second season, previously not shown on Animax.

K-On! is from Kyoto Animation, the studio that gave us the hit anime franchise The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Lucky Star. It’s a very popular anime TV series in Japan with top-selling Blu-Ray DVDs counterpart and with the five girls of K-On! as the first-ever fictional characters to have a music album to top the Japanese national music chart.

Stay tuned as we reveal the awesome Animax K-On! promo which will give you readers a chance to win exciting premium items!
