‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2’ Sets Highest Grossing Opening Weekend of All Time

The final "Harry Potter" movie is making history, sets highest-grossing opening weekend record of all time with $168.55 million.

Warner Bros.’ “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2” set the highest-grossing opening weekend ever. The series finale drew an estimated $168.55 million beating the The Dark Knight‘s record of $158.4 million.

“Deathly Hallows Part 2” also conjured the highest opening day record of $92.1 million last Friday and the highest midnight launch record of $43.5 million.

The Harry Potter franchise has now grossed $2.177 billion, and it’s about to break the record of Star Wars’ $2.218 billion to become the top-grossing franchise in history.
