Shark Attack Victim Shares Her Survival Story

July 27, 2011 by · Comments Off

A six-year-old girl survived a shark attack off the coast of Ocracoke, North Carolina.

Lucy Magnum was bit by a shark and suffered from 90 percent muscle and tendon tear that will require physical therapy before she recovers.

Lucy describes her harrowing experience on the TV program Good Morning America.

“It bit my leg and it felt like it almost stayed there,” she said.

Her mom, Jordan Mangum was only a few feet away and her father was a little bit farther in the water as Lucy and her sister played on their boogie boards in water that was no more than 18 inches deep.

“I heard her scream, so I immediately turned towards her. And at that point, saw the shark right next to her. So I immediately recognized it as a shark and ran towards her, and at this point, it didn’t really cross my mind that she had been bitten. I just wanted to get her and her sister out of the water,” Jordan said in the interview.

Kate Middleton’s Car Hits eBay

July 27, 2011 by · Comments Off

Kate Middleton’s pre-owned 2001 Volkswagen Golf car is now on auction on eBay.

The Duchess of Cambridge purchased the car in November of 2001 for £10,818. She then gave the car to younger brother James in February 2007. James Middleton then sold the car to Sonny Brazil’s father in 2009.

Brazil, on the other hand, put the car up for auction on eBay last Friday with a starting bid of £20,000 (US $32,242.00), almost double the original amount in 2001.

“I went to an auction house in Dorset a few weeks ago and they said it would be worth £30,000 pounds [$48,363] plus, purely because of the name in the log book,” Brazil told the Daily Mail.

With five days to go on the auction, bidding has already hit £25,100 (around $40,000). The seller, who has owned the car since 2009, hasn’t disclosed the car’s reserve price, so it’s unclear just what it will take for this Volkswagen Golf to find a new owner.
