Charice to Bid Goodbye to David Foster
August 26, 2011 by cd · Comments Off
Charice is taking the next step to further her career and this time, she is ready to fly on her own and eventually leaving the guidance of her mentor and Godfather, David Foster.
It’s been three years since Charice debuted on the international stage with the help of David Foster who treated her like a daughter.
The Philippine Daily Inquirer reported that this year’s David Foster and Friends concert series in the United States and Asia, will be the last ones where Charice will be a guest. He said that Charice should concentrate on her target market, the younger crowd.
Another reason for the end of Charice-David performances is because Foster is taking over the Verve label of Universal music. Foster was previously heading Reprise/143 label of Warner Music which is also the label of Charice. He will now focus his efforts in shifting Verve from Jazz to Adult Contemporary.
Charice, on the other hand, will stay with Warner Music as she preps up for her upcoming sophomore album which is due for release in 2012.
But of course, there’s a possibility that Charice will work again with David Foster someday as she mature with her music and artistry.
