Hurricane Irene Blasts New York

Hurricane Irene hit New York on Saturday night as announced by Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
“The edge of the hurricane is finally upon us,” he told the press.
As rain and stronger winds began to lash the city, Bloomberg said 370,000 people in low-lying neighborhoods have been evacuated and public transport are completely shut down.
He warns those who haven’t evacuated yet that they should stay where they are because it’s dangerous to go outside at this moment.
All Broadway shows have been cancelled over the weekend prior to the arrival of hurricane Irene.

Bagyong “Mina” has accelerated slightly and still continues to move North Northwestward today, August 28, according to the latest bulletin of Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
At 10:00 am this morning, the eye of Typhoon “Mina” was located at 60 km West of Basco, Batanes with maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kph.

Justin Bieber defends Will and Jada Smith against the nasty rumors being circulated about the couple splitting up.
Despite the denials of Will and Jada Smith, the aggressive rumors about their separation have not settled down until now. Justin Bieber, who works closely with the entire Smith family including Willow and Jaden, posted his thoughts on Twitter in an attempt to put an end to the rumors.
Here’s the tweet of the Bieber:
“Will and Jada are one the best couples ever. #FACT #real.”
It can be remembered that Will and Jada, along with their two children who are Justin’s friends, attended the premiere of Bieber’s hit documentary, “Justin BIeber: Never Say Never” which featured performances by both children.
Other celebrities who have also shown their support to the couple are Russel Simmons, Sherri Shepherd, and Will Smith‘s son from previous marriage Trey.
