The Supreme Court decision ordering the distribution of 4,900 hectares of the Cojuangco-owned Hacienda Luisita to its 6,429 farmers was met with mixed reactions. While many rejoiced over the verdict and want to start anew, some elderly farmers remain doubtful of ever realizing their dream of tending their own land.
Tomorrow (Dec 13) in “Patrol ng Pilipino,” join reporter Niko Baua as he takes the three-hour trip to Tarlac and gets to know the farmers of the plantation estate.
“Hacienda Lusita is a long and tragic story of survival, power, and the failure of basic social insitutions. It is a story that is doomed to repeat itself, unless it is resolved,” said Niko Baua, who went to Tarlac and interviewed the farmers of the plantation estate in tomorrow’s (Dec 13) “Patrol ng Pilipino.”
Meanwhile, Gretchen Malalad will also try her hand at pole dancing and find out why traditionally conservative Filipinos have come to enjoy the seductive dance. Catch the stories behind the news tomorrow (Dec 13) in “Patrol ng Pilipino” after “Bandila” on ABS-CBN or watch it earlier on DZMM TeleRadyo (SKyCable ch. 26), 9:15 PM.
