Jessica Sanchez Gets Standing Ovation After Singing Whitney Houston’s ‘I Will Always Love You’ on Idol

Jessica Sanchez received another standing ovation from the three judges of American Idol after her goosebumps-inducing performance of Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You."

The theme during American Idol Top 13 performance night was the songs of icons Whitney Houston and Stevie Wonder. It was also the show’s 400th episode.

Jessica Sanchez sang the most dreaded song in the history of the show–Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You”–and she nailed it. Aside from the standing ovation she received from the three judges, it was considered by Idol pundits as the best performance of the night.

Randy Jackson said “Jessica is legit. This is one of the hardest songs in the world to sing but I think you may be one of the best talents in the whole competition.”

Steven Tyler said “You just made 40 million people cry!”

Jennifer Lopez said “Just amazing. I don’t know what to say. It was beautiful.”
