Philippine Volcanoes Now in Asia’s Top 5

Historic win at HSBC Asian 5 Nations Division 1 Championships catapulted the Philippine Volcanoes to Asia's Top 5.

The Philippine Volcanoes defeated team Sri Lanka during the Asian Rugby eliminations Saturday night, April 22, at the Rizal Memorial Stadium. The historic 28-18 win put the Philippines in the rugby map.

The Sri Lankan team was once ranked 49th in the world and had been competing in the past Asian 5 Nations Championship.

They are now in 56th place and failing to qualify for next year’s Asian5 is a disappointment to the Sri Lankan president, whose 2 sons are members of the national team.

  5. I agree with you kabayan. This is my first time to send comment tapos bigla na lang may attention-seeker  who did reply pertaining to that nonsense network war. What’s wrong with saying “least publicity but with the no. of wins? did I point out another team?….I have been working here in Saudi for years and I am subscribed to both TFC and The Pinoy Channel and honestly it has been pissing off when some threads of comments here arguing about networks. Binabayaran ba sila sa ginagawa nila?…sorry to those who get offended. I just hope that amidst all of these nonsense things, may pakinabang kayo sa mga pamilya nyo because I am a happy and contented OFW.

  11. u r comparing them again to football my friend, just support the two team, btw, football is more competitive than rugby, tho both sports are great. and yes Football is the worlds no. 1 sport, so it is expected that it is tough to go up in the ranking ladder, and win. btw! they are all half bred! , and pls. dont show bitterness here. If you want to support, just support! ok ba kanguso? hehehe, kanguso lang naman ganyan mag isip!
