Cinema One presents this month’s blockbuster film, The Adventures of Pureza: Queen of the Riles, Melai Cantiveros and Jason Francisco’s first major movie on May 20, 2012 (Sunday), 8:00 p.m. Directed by Soxy Topacio, notorious for directing comedy films and television series such as Ded Na Si Lolo, Reyna and Diva.

The film revolves around Pura (Cantiveros) and Ruben (Francisco) and their misadventures to find the model Daniella Fabella Dela Bamba. If they do not succeed in this, Mother Baby, together with her Tsinelas Gang, will have to kill them. Along the way, they find surprising twists that will daze their lives, especially Pura.

Filipino blogger Rod Magaru reviewed the film and said, “The fact that Melai is not aware that she is funny, unconscious of how she made other people laugh, is a comedy itself. Melai’s role here looks like Ina of Tanging Ina movies where she will do everything to raise her family.”

Aside from the two, the film also stars Joem Bascon, Martin del Rosario, Bianca Manalo, Bella Flores and Ms. Gina Pareño. The movie also introduces the comedian and YouTube comic sensation Bekimon and veteran-actress Pokwang has a special appearance.

The film premieres on May 20 (Sunday) at 8:00 p.m. with encore telecasts on May 26 (Saturday) at 9:00 p.m. and May 31 (Thursday) at 3:00 p.m. only on the Philippines’ number one cable channel, Cinema One.
