American Idol Season 11 – The Top 20 Performances

20. “No One” – Elise Testone – Elise’s version of the Alicia Keys hit is definitely one of the best this season. A good example of “making the song yours.”
19. “Love You I Do” – Jessica Sanchez – Her rendition of the Jennifer Hudson hit during the Top 12 show is also the first time Jessica received a standing ovation from the judges. Her performance of this song showcased her singing prowess as beyond her years.
18. “Love the Way You Lie” – Colton Dixon – It was the perfect song choice for White-Guy-on-the-Piano Dixon and his solid and intimate rendition of the song was dubbed as his best performance of the season.
17. “Everybody Has a Dream” – Jessica Sanchez – If there’s a song being sung on Idol perfect for the life of a contestant, it’s this one. Jessica had a moment while singing this song prompting the judges to give her a standing ovation. I think it was her 3rd.
16. “Bleeding Love: – Hollie Cavanagh – Although she opted to avoid the high notes, Hollie’s controlled rendition of the Leona Lewis song made her “peak” at the right time.

American Idol is a business. They are looking for the full package, someone who can top iTunes. Alas, Phillip is no. 1 on iTunes!
Sometimes people don’t understand what life is all about. Winning a competition because a drum corps made the winner sound good, and because his followers are teenage girls, and their mothers, is really not winning anything, or at least a singing competition.. His voice was not judged, but rather his appearance. Jessica’s voice, however, is a gift from God. She has excelled beyond our imagination. She is destined to be a part of our lives forever. Thank you Lord for giving us Jessica Sanchez..
