Zombie Apocalypse: Things to Do if There’s a Zombie Incident in Your Place

Zombie Apocalypse is becoming a trending topic after a series of incidents in Miami where some people’s behavior were somehow similar to a zombie.

And the thought of a Zombie Apocalypse seems to aggravate after the infamous Miami Cannibal Attack on Saturday where a homeless man named Rudy Eugene was shot and killed by police because of chewing another man’s face off.

How creepy was that?

Eugene was caught by the police naked under a flyover in Miami chewing the face of another naked man. The police told him to stop but he did not listened. He was shot and killed while the other man was brought to the hospital.

This incident ignited the conspiracy theory about the Zombie Apocalypse.

Take note that in the last 12 days, similar incidents happened in Florida.

In chronological order, here’s what went down in the sunny state:

May 16 – According to a report by the Huffington Post, students and teachers at a Florida high school had to be decontaminated after breaking out in a mysterious rash.

May 21 – According to a report by MySuburbanLife.com, A man from Bellwood, Illinois, was arrested after allegedly biting an 18-year-old woman’s cheek.

May 23 – According to NBC San Diego, a man from Spring Valley, California was arrested for allegedly biting the tip off of his cousin’s nose off.

May 25 – According to Fox News, A 24-year-old Canadian man was arrested for rushing toward the front of an American Airlines flight from Jamaica after the plane landed in Miami.

May 24 – According to Miami Herald, another mystery rash broke out at Lauderdale Lakes Middle School in Florida. four students and a teacher in a science classroom had a red rash on their wrists. They were not working with chemicals.

May 26 – According to ABC News, a Florida anesthesiologist allegedly banged his head against the inside of a cop car until he started bleeding following a DUI arrest last Saturday, the same day as the Miami cannibal attack. He then proceeded to allegedly spit blood in a police officer’s face.

These events have sparked a nationwide sensation making people think that what they’ve seen on movies like “Shaun of the Dead,” “Dawn of the Dead,” “Night of the Living Dead” and TV series “The Walking Dead” are coming true.

Here are more events that support the “Zombie Apocalpse” theory:

May 26 – According to the Daytona Beach News-Journal, a man from Palm Coast, Florida, was arrested for allegedly biting the lips off one kitten and strangling another cat to death.

May 27 – According to the Daily Mail, a man from Hackensack, New Jersey, allegedly stabbed himself repeatedly in front of the police then began to pull his own guts out, and proceeded to throw his intestines at police officers.

These weird events happened in nearby locations just a period of 12 days since the breakout of a mysterious rash at a Florida High School.

Don’t have an idea what a zombie apocalypse might look like? Then watch this:

If you’re already in a state of panic that a zombie apocalypse could be happening in your place, a zombie expert said this is highly unlikely. You may want to read this first before you begin hoarding and transfer to a far secluded location.

When it comes to zombies, there are two kinds of causes: the biological and the supernatural. If this is a case of the former, we have nothing to fear. If it’s the latter, then we may indeed be fucked.

For the cause of this particular case of zombie-ism to be biological in origin, then it must behave in a manner fitting all known biological diseases.

One, if the source of the transmission is a bite wound, then the zombie matter, let’s say a virus, must travel through the blood stream or through the nerves to the brain (the latter is the more likely route given a zombie’s behavior).

If this is the case, then the time from bite to full-on zombie-ism should be similar to other known viruses. It could be several hours, days, weeks, or even months before the bitten becomes a flesh eater. And it goes without saying that the infected will likely have to develop full-blown zombie-ism before it begins to shed the virus in its own saliva and/or blood.

This should give authorities plenty of time to quarantine the infected and either put them down or hold them for further observation. It is impossible for a biologically based zombie virus to be spread instantaneously from person to person as we have seen in 28 Days Later and the Dawn of the Dead remake and, as such, a sudden and uncontrollable outbreak is highly unlikely.

Two, a zombie that has been biologically infected is highly unlikely to possess so-called superhuman strength or speed. The human body can only do what the human body can physically do. If the infected person is overweight and out of shape, then it is doubtful that the zombie’s abilities could exceed those of the person prior to infection. In fact, the zombie would likely be physically impaired, especially when you take into account the significant amount of nerve damage an infected person would experience in the zombie-conversion process.

Three, if the zombie is biologically created, then it must consume calories or else it will ultimately starve and cease to function. Just as you and I and every other living creature on this planet requires food, so does the zombie. If you remove the food source, a zombie will die.

So even if a zombie outbreak does manage to reach a critical mass — one in which the number of living dead rivals that of the living — then all we need to do is lock our front doors and stay inside for several weeks.

The zombie must also expend waste, and when it is doing so — chances are that it would be in the same manner as uninfected humans — then it will be ripe to be captured and/or killed.

However, if the dead are rising due to the whim of a vengeful, petty deity or an evil sorcerer, then the normal rules of biology do not apply.

In the case of the former, there’s not much you can do to undo a command by the Almighty, especially one that makes the dead rise from the grave.

If it is a case of the former — an evil sorcerer — then there is certainly a chance that the outbreak of zombie-ism could be limited to an isolated area, perhaps even a single residence or a family or person. In this case, there is also the chance that a zombie spell, if cast, could be undone.

Of course, given that there are few if any actual recorded supernatural occurrences in recently recorded memory — and those of recorded historical note are highly questionable — then any cases of zombie-ism will most undoubtably be biological in origin. And for that we should all breathe a sigh of relief.

Furthermore, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the US issued a warning about the zombie apocalypse in 2011. Titled “Preparedness 101: Zombie Apocalypse,” is a blog post of the agency that uses a zombie apocalypse scenario to raise public awareness on preparations for emergency situations. In a blog post titled “Preparedness 101: Zombie Apocalypse”, the Director of the CDC’s Office of Public Health Preparedness and Response, Rear Admiral Dr. Ali S. Khan writes: “Take a zombie apocalypse for example. That’s right, I said z-o-m-b-i-e a-p-o-c-a-l-y-p-s-e. You may laugh now, but when it happens you’ll be happy you read this, and hey, maybe you’ll even learn a thing or two about how to prepare for a real emergency.” Comparing the upcoming hurricane season and possible pandemics to “flesh-eating zombies” from the horror film Night of the Living Dead and the video game series Resident Evil, Dr. Khan recommends Americans prepare for natural disasters as they would have prepared for “ravenous monsters”

  1. Don’t be so depressive all of a sudden even zombie apocalypse does happen there is 1 fundamental law that movies and games tend to forget that is zombies need energy thus they must eat or they will starve so best thing to do is not to get out and kill some but lock your house stock food and wait untill they all starve to death unless they can make foto or kemosynthesis but even with that they will have to literally take roots to get energy and well lets say there is a reason why plants don’t move so much
