Hope Solo Drug Test Failed

Hope Solo, the US national soccer team goalkeeper, failed the compulsory drug test for Olympic-bound athletes and received a warning on Monday from the US Anti-Doping Agency, Daily Mail reported.

Hope Solo was tested positive for the prohibited substance Canrenone after she took the urine test last June 15, 2012. She took the warning and said she will still play in the Olympics.

“I took a medication prescribed by my personal doctor for pre-menstrual purposes that I did not know contained a diuretic,” Solo said in a statement. “Once informed of this fact, I immediately cooperated with USADA and shared with them everything they needed to properly conclude that I made an honest mistake, and that the medication did not enhance my performance in any way.”
