Miss Philippines and Miss China: No Tension Between Them

Miss Philippines Queenierich Rehman and Miss China Wen Xia Yu showed the world that beauty is beyond politics.

Queenierich Rehman uploaded a photo of her together with Miss China Wen Xia Yu in her official Facebook Page.

She wrote:

Finally!!! Miss Philippines and Miss China! I believe that pageants transcend all boundaries. Nice to know that political issues doesnt affect me and Miss China..Beauty is beyond politics…..

Before Queenierich flew to Mongolia a couple of weeks ago, Starmometer was able to ask Miss World Philippines director Cory Quirino THE question…

Starmometer: Miss World 2012 is going to be held in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, an autonomous region of the People’s Republic of China. There’s a political tension between the Philippines and China, do you think it will hurt Queenierich’s chances of winning the first Miss World crown for the country?

Cory Quirino: That is the apprehension and the fear of Filipinos specially in media when they found out that the Miss World pageant will be held and hosted by Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China. It is a valid fear and apprehension, however, I have every faith in Miss World and the Miss World Organization that they will not allow politics to interfere with the management and judges that they have invited. It might be a relevant apprehension to most Filipinos but to us within the Miss World Organization I believe that the credibility of Miss World will far outweigh the fear and apprehension of the Filipino people. And I know that Queenierich has an answer to that…

Queenierich: I believe that beauty is beyond politics and beauty should be used to unite people around the world. It should not interfere with any tension.
