‘The Crew’ from UP Wins 2012 World Hip Hop Dance Championship

Philippines' very own "The Crew," from the country's flagship university UP bested more than 2,000 of the world's best street dancers and emerged as the 2012 World Hip Hop Dance champion!

40 countries including USA, Canada, Mexico, Finland, UK, Singapore, Brazil, Argentina, Japan, Denmark, New Zealand, Australia, Italy, Spain, France, India, Germany, and the Philippines gathered in Las Vegas to compete for the 2012 World Hip Hop Dance Championship which was held from August 1 to 5, 2012.

Aside from the crew, Philippines was also represented by UP Streetdance Club who won 3rd place in the Megacrew category, La Salle Dance Company, Legit Status, Fresh Flow and former champion–The Philippine Allstars.

Meanwhile, renowned dance crew Jabbawockeez who are known for its Filipino members, was presented with HHI’s prestigious Living Legend of Hip Hop Award during the finals at the 11th annual World Hip Hop Dance Championship Finals on August 5 at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.
