Elaine Kay Moll Will Represent PHL in Miss Supranational 2012

The Bb. Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) has recently presented Elaine Kay Moll as the country’s official candidate to the Miss Supranational 2012 pageant in Poland.

Present during the presentation, which was held on August 23 at the Gateway Suites, were Madame Stella Marquez Araneta, BPCI Chairperson, reigning and past Binibining Pilipinas queens, sponsors, and the media.

The Miss Supranational 2012 pageant is happening on September 14 in Warsaw, Poland. This will be the fourth staging of the Miss Supranational pageant. It was founded in 2009 in Poland by the World Beauty Association, with the aim to “unite our world with beauty.”

Monika Lewczuk of Poland is the reigning Miss Supranational.

Elaine is this year’s Binibining Pilipinas first runner up. The 20-year-old, 5’11” model and student athlete from Catarman, Northern Samar says that she is ready to be the first Filipina to win the Miss Supranational title. Elaine is no stranger to international competitions, having competed in the Asia Model Awards in South Korea just last January prior to her Binibining Pilipinas stint.

“I wasn’t expecting [that I will be sent to the Miss Supranational pageant]. But I’m excited, at the same time nervous. Excited because this will be my first time in Europe, in Poland—and for a competition pa! Nervous because this time, I know na mas mabigat yung competition. Before kasi, it was just modeling, and it was within Asia. Now, it’s global, kaya nag-p-prepare talaga ako,” Elaine shares.

Months of rigorous training after the Binibining Pilipinas pageant will keep Elaine in good stead. To get herself ready for her pageant stint in Poland, Elaine has stepped up on her preparations, which began soon after the coronation night. “Ever since we won in April, we’ve been in training. We go to the gym, watch our diet, do pasarela and Q&A training in preparation for the international pageants,” Elaine says. Personality development training, photo shoots, TV guestings, and various appearances at high-profile events such as the ADB Governors’ Summit last May 4, also helped Elaine prepare for the upcoming pageant.

Like her Binibini idols, Miss Universe 1999 1st Runner-Up Miriam Quiambao, Miss Universe 2010 4th Runner-Up Venus Raj, and Miss Universe 2011 3rd Runner-Up Shamcey Supsup, Elaine hopes to represent the Philippines well in the pageant and bring more honor to the country.

“It has always been my dream to represent and give honor to our country, and I am definitely ready to do that,” she says.
