Lea Salonga to Host PH Edition of ‘The Voice’

Lea Salonga, a Tony and Olivier Award-winning theater actress and Disney Legend, is reportedly chosen by ABS-CBN to host the Philippine version of the hit reality singing competition "The Voice."

According to a report by Nitz Miralles of Pilipino Star Ngayon, Lea Salonga was chosen by ABS-CBN Management to host the network’s newest singing competition and one of the four coaches’s seats will be occupied by Zsa Zsa Padilla.

There’s no official statement yet from the Kapamilya Network to confirm this development. Earlier reports said former PBB housemate Robi Domingo, The Buzz host Toni Gonzaga and the Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo are in the running to become the host of “The Voice Philippines.”

The US version has Carson Daly as host and Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green, and Blake Shelton as coaches.

Contrary to other reality singing competitions, “The Voice” has blind auditions and one-on-one battle phases. And similar with “The X Factor,” four judges will serve as mentors/coaches. But they will be the one who will pick the contestants that will become members of their team.
