TV5 is Lone PH Network to Win at the 2012 Asian Television Awards

After the Philippines received 13 nominations at the 2012 Asian Television Award, only 1 network emerged victorious - TV5. The Kapatid Network bagged the Best Lifestyle Program award for "Chef vs Mom."

Out of 13 nominations, AksyonTV’s lifestyle program “Chef vs. Mom” was the only Philippine bet that won at the 17th Asian Television Awards held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Singapore on Thursday night, December 6, 2012.

The “mother-son cooking showdown” show bested India’s “Band Baajaa Bride with Sabyasachi”; Singapore’s “Passage to Abu Dhabi,” “Chef On The Road,” and “Lonely Planet Six Degrees China – Episode Shanghai”; and Malaysia’s “Axian Food Adventures (Season 2)” and “Now Everyone Can Fly to New Zealand.”

“Chef vs. Mom” airs on AksyonTV, TV5’s news and sports-related television network, every Saturday at 5:30pm.

On the other hand, ABS-CBN’s Korina Sanchez was deemed “Highly Commended” as Best Current Affairs Presenter for her weekly lifestyle magazine show “Rated K.” India’s Barkha Dutt, host of “We The People with Hillary Clinton,” won in this category.
