Pacquiao vs. Marquez 4: Juan Manuel Marquez Knocks Down Manny Pacquiao in 3rd and 6th Round

Manny Pacquiao was knocked down by his greatest opponent, Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez, during the 3rd and 6th round of their fourth clash on December 8, (Sunday morning in Manila) at the MGM Grand Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Marquez sends pacquiao down to the canvass during the third round, but the Pambansang Kamao stood up to continue the fight.

Pacquiao dominated the fifth round, staggering Marquez, showing the judges that he has control of the fight.

However, during the sixth round, the Mexican fighter was able to unload a perfect right straight that knocks down the People’s Champ for the win.

The Filipino was leading all three judges’ scorecards, 47-46, before he was knocked out.

Juan Manuel Marquez has been considered as Manny Pacquiao’s toughest competitor, ever, because the two boxers have fought three times since 2004, but none of these bouts were unanimous.

In those bouts, Pacquiao won twice (2008 and 2011) via close decisions and their first face-off in 2004 actually ended in a draw.

It’s interesting to note that their third fight which happened November of 2011, Pacquiao was declared winner but people believed it was Marquez who won that’s why to end the debate, the two ring warriors figured again for the fourth time.

The event was a non-title bout at welterweight.
