Curtis Finch, Jr. Gets the Boot on American Idol

Worship leader Curtis Finch, Jr. was announced as the lowest vote-getter during the results show of American Idol prompting him to sing for the "judges' save," a power that can be used only once per season by the judging panel.

Curtis sang R Kelly‘s “I Believe I Can Fly” on his bid to stay in the competition but Keith Urban, Nicki Minaj, Randy Jackson and Mariah Carey were not unanimous with their vote causing elimination for the St. Louis native.

For the first time in the history of the show, the top three vote-getters were revealed (but not the order) and they are Angie Miller, Candice Glover and Kree Harrison.

The fourth to tenth rankings, however, were shown:

4. Lazaro Arbos
5. Amber Holcomb
6. Janelle Arthur
7. Burnell Taylor
8. Paul Jolley
9. Devin Velez
10. Curtis Finch, Jr.

Next week, the Top 9 finalists will be singing songs from the Lennon-McCartney Songbook & The Beatles.
