Atom Araullo Probes Truth Behind ‘Pangitain’ or Harbingers of Death in ‘Hiwaga’

Broadcast journalist Atom Araullo probes the story of an old lady who can allegedly see harbingers of death or referred to in Philippine folklore as “pangitain” this Friday (Apr 12) in “Pinoy True Stories: Hiwaga.”

Whether it’s a “gift” or a “curse,” Lola Nancy knew about her extraordinary ability as early as she was ten years old at the same time her beloved father died. She recounted how she saw her dad sitting on the stairs as if he was actually there only to find out minutes later that he had already passed away in the hospital.

It didn’t stop there because a similar incident occurred years after wherein people she knew had died right after she had seen them. Her father even appeared before her once again but during that time, he was beckoning her to go with him.

Could Lola Nancy have seen “Death” before the victims died? Or were these uncanny instances nothing more than just coincidences?
