‘El Presidente’ Wins Best World Feature at SoHo Filmfest in New York

"El Presidente," a historical drama produced by Scenema Concept International, Viva films and CMB Films for the 2012 MMFF was hailed Best World Feature Film at the SoHo International Film Festival in New York City beating entries from USA, Germany, Canada, Russia and other countries.

The SoHo International Film Festival was held on April 5-12, 2013 at the Sunshine Cinema in New York City. The 4th edition of the festival celebrates cutting-edge digital technology while honoring traditional forms of storytelling. It was participated by USA, Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Spain, Turkey, Russia and United Kingdom.

“El Presidente” starred Laguna Governor E.R. Ejercito with Baron Geisler, Christopher de Leon, Cristine Reyes, Cesar Montano and Nora Aunor. The Philippine entry which opened the festival last April 5 emerged as the winner of the Best World Feature Film award.

“El Presidente” failed to get the top awards at the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) last year, which went to the box office drama “One More Try” starring Angel Locsin.
