The 21-year-old Filipino from Gillingham succeed in the battle round clash of the show’s recent episode beating pop duo Diva, both acts performing Elton John‘s “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down On Me.”

Apostol will now advance to the knockout stage, which is just a step away from the live shows.

Joseph Apostol wowed Tom Jones and Jessie J during the blind auditions with his rendition of “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow.” He picked the veteran crooner as his vocal coach.

The other two coaches of the British singing competition are Irish singer/rapper Danny O’Donoghue and the will.i.am of the Grammy-winning hip-hop group The Black Eyed Peas.
