‘Ang Kwento ni Mabuti’ Starring Nora Aunor – Movie Poster and Trailer

If Vilma Santos has an upcoming indie film (“Ekstra”), Nora Aunor will not be left behind. The Superstar topbills the CineFilipino entry “Ang Kwento ni Mabuti.”
Directed by Mes De Guzman, “Ang Kwento ni Mabuti” is a morality tale about Mabuti, a healer who looks at life positively despite her poverty. Everything changes, however, when she accidentally finds a bag containing a huge stash of money. The five million pesos could bring an end to her family’s problems. But is the solution that simple or is it loaded with complications?
Filmed entirely in Nueva Vizcaya, the film marks the first time that Nora speaks Ilocano in the entire movie. Other cast-members are Arnold Reyes, Sue Prado, Mara Lopez, and Ama Quiambao.
“Ang Kwento ni Mabuti” is an official entry to the 1st Cine Filipino Film Festival which is happening on June 26 to July 2, 2013. The event was made possible by PLDT-Smart Foundation and Studio 5.
