Rising Kapuso star Alden Richards will portray the role of the young Robin Padilla in the 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) official entry "10,000 Hours."

“10,000 Hours” is Alden’s fourth MMFF movie after “Ang Panday 2” (2011) “Si Agimat, Si Enteng at si Ako” (2012) and “Sossy Problems” (2012). It’s his sixth overall and first time to do action.

Talking about his role in the film as the young Robin Padilla: “Maaksyon e because I’m a police man, young police man, in a way siguro I’ll keep myself fit kasi there’s gonna be a lot of fight scenes, a lot of kissing scenes, tapos acting-wise I read the script thoroughly talaga specially na ganitong mga big projects, hindi pwedeng pabayaan ‘yan.”

“Wala rin naman akong aasahan kundi ang sarili ko pag dating sa mga ganyan so I work on it on my own which adds more fun kasi sa pag-aartista naman hindi pwede ‘yung, let’s say pupunta ka sa set, tapos may script, tapos hahayaan mo lang na utos-utusan ka nang direktor, na sumunod ka lang sa anumang sinasabi ng director. You should find ways to push yourself kasi hindi naman maganda ‘yung kung ano naman ang sabihin ng director ‘yun lang ang gagawin mo, surprise them,” he added.

Having won awards for his portrayal of a disturbed teeage boy in the GMA Films horror movie “The Road,” Alden reveals how he prepare himself for a particular role.

“Mas maganda when you’re an actor, you should know yourself really well. Alamin mo ‘yung sarili mo, know your strengths, know your weaknesses, acknowledge it, kasi that way sa acting, madaling i-access ‘yung emotions e kapag kilalang-kilala mo na ‘yung sarili mo e, ano ‘yung magpapaiyak sa iyo, isipin mo lang eto na. Galit, happiness, fear, lahat ‘yun so as an actor you have to be smart,” he said.

Aside from Robin Padilla who topbills “10,000 Hours,” other cast-members of the movie are Michael de Mesa, Bela Padilla, Bobby Andrews, Sunshine Dizon, and Malou de Guzman. It will be under the direction of Bb. Joyce Bernal.
