Enrico Raphael Quiogue Nacino, or better known as Rocco Nacino, bonded with his dad Ralph Nacino via a boxing workout session at the Elorde Gym in Julia Vargas Avenue, Ortigas last June 19, where the young actor is part-owner.

Ralph Nacino is very proud of his son Rocco, a registered nurse and now one of the most sought-after Kapuso leading man. But aside from having a fruitful career in showbiz, Ralph is also thankful that his son grew up as a God-fearing person.

“My wife and I are really blessed that we have good children. Masaya kami na napalaki namin sila sa paraang tama at may takot sa Diyos,” he said.

Rocco’s dad admitted that he is not too strict as a father.

“Balance ako e, ang mas strikto sa aming mag-asawa ‘yung wife ko. Ako madali akong kausapin e, kasi lalake sila so naiintindihan ko, pinagdaanan ko kasi nung bata ako. Kaya pag may sinama sila or request sila, I understand kaagad,” he said.

Rocco, on the other hand, shared that when he is fazed with a tough decision, he always consult his dad.

“Actually when I started this business with a partners [Elorde Gym], si Daddy kaagad ang kinausap ko e. Siya ang may alam talaga pagdating sa mga business. So when I got this blessing at sabi niya ‘sige go for it,’ I went for it,” the young actor said.

“In everything, feeling ko kasi, I like to think of myself na di pa ready to make tough decisions, I always go to my parents para mag-consult muna, mas nakakaalam pa rin sila,” he added.

And this is one of the reasons why Ralph is proud of his son.

“Masaya kami kasi kahit papaano binibigyan kami ng importansya, he consults us with major decisions sa buhay nila and siyempre as parents, we give them guidance and support,” he said.

Does Rocco still consults his dad when it comes to matters of the heart?

“There’s always time for a serious relationship and right now, siyempre artista hindi naman araw araw sikat ka e. There will be a time na mawawala ka sa limelight so focus muna sa work,” Ralph shared.

“‘Yun ang sinusundan ko ngayon,” was Rocco’s quick response. “Nakikinig ako sa lambing sa akin ng parents ko na magtrabaho ng magtrabaho muna dahil showbiz is not forever so para sa akin love will always be there. It will come knocking on your door so ano muna, focus muna sa trabaho,” he added.

Ralph Nacino’s message for Rocco:

“Thank you for being a good son and a good brother to Kyle. Tuloy mo lang ‘yang ginagawa mo, focus lang sa work at sana mag-flourish pa ang career mo at magkaroon ka pa ng maraming projects. Remember also na syempre pag artista ka hindi naman araw-araw e sikat ka, there will come a time na mawawala ka sa limelight, kaya hanggat meron pa, focus muna sa kung ano meron ka. I love you.”

Rocco’s message to his dad:

“Dad, thank you for being here with me today, for bringing me into this world and for supporting me in all my decisions. Marami akong idol, pero ikaw pa rin ang number 1 idol ko. I love you.”
