Gilas Pilipinas Beats Korea, Enters FIBA World Cup!

Philippine basketball team "Gilas Pilipinas" made a historical win against South Korea on Saturday, August 10, during the semi-finals of 2013 FIBA Asia Championship at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

By beating the basketball team of Korea, Gilas Pilipinas earned a ticket to the 2014 FIBA World Cup to be held in Spain.

Philippines vs South Korea Scores per quarter: 15-19, 36-39, 65-56, 86–79.

Earlier today, Iran defeated Chinese Taipei, 79-60.

Gilas Pilipinas will face Iran on Sunday, August 12, for the FIBA Asia 2013 Championship.

If they emerge victorious, the Philippines will hold the record of having the most wins: its fifth in the triennial meet.
