Mitoy Yonting Named 1st Grand Winner of ‘The Voice of the Philippines’
After each grand finalists sang with their respective coach and performed with Irish pop star Shane Filan, host Toni Gonzaga eliminated the bottom two: Janice Javier (13.56%) and Myk Perez (12.11%).
With votes reverted back to zero, Klarisse de Guzman and Mitoy Yonting had a face-off to vie for the last round of votes from the viewers. Klarisse sang Leo Valdez’ “Magsimula Ka” while Mitoy performed “Help” by The Beatles.
Without further ado, Toni announced that the 42-year-old veteran band vocalist won the final showdown after garnering 57.65% of the votes.
For winning the first ever “Voice of the Philippines” title, Mitoy will take home entertainment package from Sony Bravia, an Asian tour for two, a brand new car from Ford Philippines, a tax-free cash prize of 2 million pesos, and a four-year recording contract from MCA Universal.

it was 12am to 1am – maryland time to watch the voice of the phillipines – it wasn’t worth the watch – looking at the result, it was a waste of time, I am mad as hell. Will watch something else in the futre. No more voice of the philippines

Mitoy is one of the best singer, He is the best tenor and a world class.
