Directed by award-winning director Joel Lamangan, with acclaimed director-scriptwriter Joey Reyes as head writer, this light family drama is set to capture the hearts of Pinoy viewers as they follow the inspiring story of an all-around wife, mother and friend who becomes the leader of an amusing community of diverse and quirky personalities.
In Madam Chairman, the Megastar takes on the role of Elizabeth “Bebeth” de Guzman, a simple and loving wife and mother who is entrusted with the position of barangay chairman and later on struggles to become the Madam Chairman of both her household and the whole of Barangay Sta. Clara.
Jay Manalo plays Bebeth’s OFW husband Dodong, who has an affair with Beverly (Regine Angeles) from Barangay San Isidro. After Dodong abandons his family to be with his mistress, Bebeth has to be both mother and father to their three children – the naughty actor wannabe Bubuy (Akihiro Blanco), the kikay Kakay (Shaira Mae Dela Cruz) and the adorable Jun-Jun (Byron Ortile).
Bayani Agbayani again shows his funny antics as Jojo Campomanes, the deceased barangay chairman’s ambitious son-in-law who schemes to oust Madam Chairman by all means TO secure the position for himself.
Ciara Sotto makes her TV comeback with the role of Jingle, THE ever-supportive BFF. Nanette Inventor plays Bebeth’s Kapampangan-speaking auntie who spoils the De Guzman kids. Meanwhile, Madam Chairman is surrounded by friends who are barangay kagawads helping her run the barangay hall: Cita (Malou De Guzman), the most religious friend; Hermes (Manny Castañeda), the tactless one who is more into beautification and sportsfests; and Mercy (Glenda Kennedy), the unsolicited adviser to Madam Chairman’s never-ending problems.
Completing the cast are Fanny Serrano, Tony Mabesa, Jim Pebanco, Nanette Inventor, Gilleth Sandico, Patani, Bearwin Meily and Toby Alejar.
Madam Chairman premieres this October 14 and will air from Monday to Friday at 7:00pm as part of TV5’s “Everyday All the Way” primetime programming.
