TV5 Scores High Ratings with PLDT Telpad PBA Governor’s Cup Game 7

The heart-stopping thriller that was Game 7 of the recently-concluded PLDT Telpad PBA Governors’ Cup Finals was definitely one for the books. TV5’s airing of the much talked-about finals series posted high viewership ratings, with Friday’s Game 7 registering a peak of 4.1 million viewers during the fourth quarter where the San Mig Coffee Mixers grabbed championship from the Petron Blaze Boosters.

The Game 7 high registered a 41.7% audience share and a 9.5% AMR based on the Nielsen Media National Urban TV Audience Measurement (NUTAM) data covering October 25. Further, the numbers have already exceeded the figures posted last May during the Commissioner’s Cup Finals.

The mammoth crowd that also trooped to the Smart Araneta Coliseum for the Governors’ Cup Finals reached a whopping 21,319 fans.

Overall, the 2013 Governors’ Cup series on TV5 also fared better as compared to the 2012 edition. An average of 2 million viewers followed and watched the series that started last October 11.

Game 7 was the most watched game, averaging a 22.8% audience share and 6.7% AMR. The fourth quarter of the game had a 33.6% share, beating ABS-CBN’s Maria Mercedes (33.2% audience share) and GMA7’s Akin Pa Rin Ang Bukas (24.1% audience share).

The PLDT Governors’ Cup PBA Finals series between the San Mig Coffee Mixers and the Petron Blaze Boosters was exclusively seen on TV5 with simulcast on AksyonTV (channel 41 in Metro Manila; channel 29 in Metro Cebu and Metro Davao).
