Korina Sanchez, Fired from Her DZMM Radio Program ‘Rated Korina’?
Last November while doing a live report for international news network CNN with Tacloban airport as the background, Cooper said, “No real evidence of organized relief and rescue operation around Tacloban. I haven’t seen much of a relief effort, I haven’t seen a large military presence.”
In defense of his husband Sec. Mar Roxas, Sanchez attacked Cooper on her radio program.
“Itong si Anderson Cooper, sabi wala daw gov’t presence sa Tacloban. Mukhang hindi niya alam ang sinasabi niya,” Sanchez was quoted as saying and it started a ‘word ward’ between the two journalists.
The feud hit international headlines and Sanchez was noticeably absent on the primetime newscast “TV Patrol” and radio program “Rated Korina” after the incident. There were speculations on social media and blogs that Korina was suspended by ABS-CBN during that time. The Kapamilya Network, however, did not release any statement to clear the rumors.
On January 3, Friday, Amy Perez posted on her Twitter account saying she and Marc Logan will replace Korina Sanchez’ timeslot (10:00am) on DZMM beginning Monday, January 6. Apparently, Korina submitted her resignation from “Rated Korina” effective on the same day.
There were reports that the veteran journalist was forced to take leave/resignation by the big bosses of ABS-CBN and the ‘floated’ reason: she will finish her masteral degree in London.
So how about her top-rating lifestyle magazine program “Rated K,” will it also take hiatus?
Good job ABS CBN.. two thumbs up!
