Last March 19, one of the biggest and well-organized Kapuso birthday celebrations was held at the Bagong Silanganan Elementary School for GMA Artist Center Dion Ignacio’s birthday.

When Tess Bomb introduced the arrival the Innamorata hearthrob, the whole school was in an uproar as they screamed their hearts out as if they were having a grand fans day instead of a birthday celebration.

The whole event was in full swing from the moment the young actor arrived. Welcoming him was a grand entrance number by the school’s very own “Majesty’s Drum and Lyre band” wherein majorettes and instrumentalists of the said group performed for the young actor.

After his opening remarks and Dr. Arsenios Honrejos welcoming remarks, Dion performed two songs -“Stigmatized” where he showed his rockstar singing prowess as he is part of a band and the Apo Hiking song which was revived by Spongecola “Nakakapagtaka” where he sang with one of the teachers of the school.

To show his appreciation, he personally handed a new set of musical instruments to Dr. Honrejos as his gift to the school’s Drum and Lyre band.

After the festivities, we got to talk with Dion during a candid conversation over lunch. He expressed his excitement and heartfelt gratitude to the very warm welcome he received from the whole student body to the teachers and Principal of the school. He alswo shared that aside from Innamorata, he hinted that he is being tapped to appear in a new movie under GMA Films.
