The competition officially kicks off with its unique Blind Auditions, where coaches Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo, and Lea Salonga select the artists they want to mentor just by listening to the aspirant’s singing voice.

Some of the young artists viewers have to watch out for are the young girl from London who came home to the Philippines to showcase her talent, the fiery little girl who auditioned in the show so she could buy a Barbie doll, and a child star who wants to unveil her new singing style.

The pilot episodes will also feature host Luis Manzano personally inviting a Cebu-based OPM singer to join the Blind Auditions, coach Sarah acting as referee between coaches Lea and Bamboo during a showdown to woo a young artist to join their respective teams, and the fun performance of the three coaches with an auditionee who idolizes Michael Jackson.

Who among them will get the coaches to push the red button? Which young artist will shed tears of joy when the three coaches turn around for him?

By the end of the Blind Auditions, the coaches must have selected 18 artists for their respective teams who will proceed to the next rounds of the competition.

Don’t miss “The Voice Kids” this Saturday (May 24), 6:45 PM and on Sunday (May 25), 7:30 PM on ABS-CBN’s Yes Weekend. For updates on the program, visit thevoice.abs-cbn.com, like www.facebook.com/thevoiceabscbn, or follow @thevoiceabscbn on Twitter and @abscbnthevoice on Instagram.
