Glaiza de Castro Collaborates with Friends on Her Upcoming Indie Album ‘Synthesis’
During the Kapuso Rockeoke Music Blogger Event last October 21 at Selda Dos Music Bar and Resto in Vizayas Avenue, Quezon City, “Dading” star Glaiza de Castro revealed that she’s about to release her third studio album titled “Synthesis.”
Contrary to her previous albums, “Synthesis” is independently produced by Glaiza herself and her friends. It will contain 8 original tracks, 3 tagalog and 5 english songs composed and written by Glaiza herself with the help/collaboration of her friends.
The Kapuso character actress said her upcoming album will be much more personal than commercial.
“Generally tungkol siya sa love, tungkol siya sa struggles sa life. Kumbaga parang personal struggles, ganun, finding your passions, pursuing your dreams, ‘yung typical na pinagdadaanan ng nasa age ko siguro,” she said.
Glaiza added that this album is very special because it will highlight an intricate fusion of different genres and will show how versatile she is as a singer.
“Ayaw ko siyang ikulong sa rock or alternative, para sakin fusion siya e ng lahat ng influences ko e kasi I listen to all kinds of music, iba iba, from pop to alternative to rock to new wave, to punk, lahat lahat so para sa akin eclectic siya,” she said.
And talking about the concept of her album and why it’s called “Synthesis,” Glaiza explains:
“Yung concept ng album is iba ibang artwork from different people dahil nagcontribute rin ng songs dito ‘yung mga friends ko like sina Angelica Panganiban, si Alessandra de Rossi meron akong track with her, si Chynna Ortaleza nagcontribute ng album artwork, tapos e since si Benjamin (Alves) is into literature, nagtanong ako one time sa kanya kung ano ba ‘yung ibang words na pwedeng mag-represent dun sa collaboration, sa fusion, so nagbigay siya ng list sa kin, tapos ‘yun ‘synthesis’ uy ok nga parang cool pakinggan. Sige sige ‘Synthesis’ and I also want na ‘yung mga tao na nakatrabaho ko, ‘yung mga naging importante sa akin, nagkaroon ako ng connection ay masama dito sa album na ‘to.”
Watch out for Glaiza’s upcoming album “Sythesis,” to become available in record bars nationwide. For the meantime, you can catch Glaiza as a manananggal on GMA’s horror program “Elemento” every Friday before “24 Oras.”
