Vigan Makes It to the New 7 Wonder Cities of the World List
The New 7 Wonders organization announced the final results of the global poll on December 8 via YouTube (Watch the video below).
In alphabetical order, here are the New 7 Wonder Cities of the World:
- Beirut, Lebanon
- Doha, Qatar
- Durban, South Africa
- Havana, Cuba
- Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
- La Paz, Bolivia
- Vigan, Philippines
Rounding off the Top 14 finalists are Barcelona, Chicago, London, Mexico City, Perth, Quito, and Reykjavik.
Vigan is the only city in the Philippines included in the list of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites for its well-preserved Spanish colonial churches and homes. It’s also one of the only two certified UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the country, the other one being the Puerto-Princesa Subterranean River National Park. Coincidentally, the Puerto Princesa Underground River was named one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature in 2011.

have you been to all the places na nominado in the new 7 wonder cities 2014? kung makapagsalita ka naman parang maaalam ka… hindi lang naman online voting yung basehan ha… they have criteria,.. are u telling us na mas may alam ka kesa sa mga taong nasa likuran ng pagtanghal ng mga new 7 wonder cities?

we are proud of vigan but as we know it, we humbly accept na hindi ito ganon kaganda para talunin ang mga ibang syudad na di nakasama sa top 7 list. ano lang ba ang vigan kung ikukumpara sa barcelona, spain o sa iba pang mga syudad na mas mayaman sa kultura, kasaysayan, kagandahan at kaayusan?

The Philippines have NINE CERTIFIED UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITES not only two (Vigan, Puerto Princesa Underground River, Santa Maria Church, Miag-ao Church, Paoay Church, San Agustin Church, Tubbataha Reef, Mount Hamiguitan and Rice Terraces of the Cordilleras). Please correct it right away and do some research first okay before posting because it can really help.
